The former mayor of a southwest Iowa town faces child pornography charges after being turned in by the 12-year-old son of her live-in boyfriend. The boy allegedly found explicit photos on the computer owned by 47-year-old Angela Pelster, who was the mayor of Imogene for eight years. She faces 34 counts of sexual exploitation of children. 46-year-old Steven Schaffer, Pelster’s companion, faces the same charges. Arraignment is set for March 29. Schaffer’s attorney says the computer was seized two years ago but says Schaffer denies any wrongdoing.
