Too many princesses?

I haven’t read this book yet, but someone else has, and they wrote a great blog entry about it!  Here’s writer and TV commentator Margot Magowan on the book Cinderella Ate My Daughter by Cindy Orenstein.  This is from her blog, ReelGirl.

  1. I’m in the middle of this one right now. I’ll let you know what I think. So far, it’s interesting, but thus far a mere commentary on observations. No suggestions on how to change things. And there’s a part of me that wonders, as an actual former Disney Princess, how I personally contributed to the madness. I’m sure you’ll read all about it in my blog when I’m finished. 😉

    • I’m curious to see if you like it! Let me know; I haven’t read it yet. As a mom of two boys, it’s less relevant to me, although still relevant—we are not without our princess fantasies. 🙂 Plus, there’s always something being marketed to kids, and the theories are probably pretty similar.
