Quadrille: I Know a Place

I know a place
love lies
there
summer clouds pass by
cuckoo sings her songs
around young lovers, shy
bougainvillea blooms
and kisses on closed eyes

I know a place
love lives
there
it's the pink of your lips
and brown of your eyes.

Haibun: Change of Times

As I sit here in the shade of a tree which is full of green leaves, I remember the time when it was bare and I had friends with me, we had started a fire to keep us warm as we talked about things. Now, there’s no winter left in this place, it’s empty and green.

The stupid greenery is everywhere, bright enough to make you blind and the hot wind burns the skin. Like the winter, my friends are also distant, I long for both.

I found a flower in the Spring, its softness and sweetness are to die for. It’s a beautiful distraction from all the sadness that envelopes me and I will try to protect and preserve it against the change of times.

Summer Sun burns bright
Lovers in the tree shade kiss
Winter forgotten

Magic 9

You're the air I breathe
You're the smile I wear
You're the magic I seek
In my life when it's dull
and future seems bleak
You're my talisman
You're my sunset at sea
My north star, I stare
at when I'm lost and weak.

Familiar Face in the Crowd

Blue skies and white clouds
Familiar face in the crowd

On the banks of a lake
A soft handshake

Winds of summer
I used to love her

April sun on her face
of memory and desire, no trace

Signs of spring aren't fully erased
Her cracked lips, I still want to taste

But a bluebird sings
and she says, "It was just a fling."

A Bittersweet Friday

Friday
In a new city
with mom and aunt
We took a walk in the park
crossed a bridge
build over a rapidly flowing river

We visted a new doctor
For second opinion
which, as I thought
was the same
as first doctor's opinion.

A Condition That You Can’t Understand

Slitting wrist
Letting it bleed
Blood warm spills on my feet
No more waiting for sleep
No more psychotic nights.

No more telling lies
about the shadows
that follow me
about the ghosts
that talk to me

Everything red and out--
in the open
It's no crime
But a condition
that you can't understand.

Untitled Quadrille

Sharp scent of "Good Morning" deodrant
Empty growling stomach and
Shivering hands

Right pocket has ruler and 2 pens
Left pocket has bike key in its chain
Back pocket is empty like my brain

I hope I don't faint
When I see the questions.
