Dr. Ian MacIntyre – Dentist

Ian was born and raised in Elmsdale Nova Scotia, approximately 30 minutes north of Halifax. He comes from a large close-knit family with roots in Cape Breton. Ian completed his undergraduate BSc in Chemistry at St. Francis Xavier University, then his undergraduate degree and General Practice Residency certificate in Dentistry at Dalhousie University. He is a member of the NSDA, CDA, and an examiner for the NDEB of Canada. Ian has been a part-time instructor in the Dalhousie Faculty of Dentistry since graduation and enjoys sharing his love of the profession with the next generation. He is an avid runner and member of the Halifax Roadhammers, participates in several sports recreationally, and thoroughly enjoys reading.

Sierra Bergman – Dental Hygienist

Sierra was born and raised in New Glasgow Nova Scotia. She successfully completed her undergraduate BSc in Biology at St. Francis Xavier University before completing the Diploma of Dental Hygiene program at Dalhousie University.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking outdoors, watching sunsets, and petting dogs.

June Nearing – RDA

June was born and raised in a small town on Cape Breton Island called Dominion.  After high school she attended  UCCB for three years where she received a BA degree in Sociology.  She then moved to Dartmouth for a year while attending the NSCC Institute of Technology in Halifax for her Registered Dental Assist degree. After working back home on the island for a few years, she came to Halifax for a working interview with Dr. Jan Vanderdonk, when she was offered the job on her second day. 14 years later she’s still with the practice.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her fiancé,  semiannual trips back to Cape Breton, and many different types of crafting.

Holly Promislow – Office Admin

Holly grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, but has considered Halifax her home for the last six years. She completed her degree in Contemporary Studies at the University of King’s College and Philosophy at Dalhousie. She now enjoys her work as Office Administrator here at Coburg Dentistry.
