Didn’t I start my own business to have more freedom, not less?
Running a business is a lot of work and it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day drudge, just like (or sometimes worse than) when you’re an employee for someone else.
It can be tough when your professional life has bled (unplanned) into every aspect of your personal life. Doing payroll over your weekend, sending out e-mails late into the night, dealing with customer service complaints when all you want to do is take a break; it’s all extremely draining and when you’re the final authority on everything (and the one on the hook if it goes wrong) it can be tough finding any space for you.
I assert though that you can have a very successful business AND a fulfilling & relaxing personal life. It’s all about how you’re being in and with your business.
