A.S. Face 0682: Tracy
My name is Tracy and I have AS. It started when I was 12 in 1978 when I had pain in my neck and trouble walking with a lot of pain in my hip. No one could tell me what was going on. I was diagnosed from a chiropractor from a major medical center with having my ‘ribs growing crooked’ which caused my neck and hip pain. Finally in 1984 my knee blew up and the doctor who took the fluid out had some testing done and told me I needed to see a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with AS. Finally a reason for my pain and a treatment plan. Now, after all these years, I am still in some pain but on a plan that has kept me as mobile as possible with as much movement as possible.

Tracy: Welcome to our AS group! Wow–you were diagnosed at a young age–it took me over three decades to be diagnosed! I hope that you remain mobile, and know that you have many people to help and support you here!
