Stalker Night

On Friday 17th July from 7.30pm Stan’s Cafe are putting on a tribute to Andrei Tarkovski’s film Stalker at A E Harris in the Jewellery Quarter. As well as the film screening there will be a vodka bar, a ‘complimentary hair clippering service’ (!), installations and Stan’s Cafe’s very own It’s Your Film booth.

Stalker (1979) is a set in an unspecified country in a post-apocalyptic future. The impact of a meteorite landing on earth has created a mysterious phenomenon called the Zone. Within the Zone there is a sinister room which is said to grant the world’s deepest desires. However, few that enter ever return. Reminiscent of the work of Philip K. Dick, Stalker has inspired filmmakers from David Lynch to Stephen Spielberg.
