Shohfi Shows Off for San Marino

San Marino wide out J.P. Shohfi tallied 232-total yards and reached the end zone four times in the Titans 49-10 Week zero win over the Arroyo Knights Friday night at Bergstrom stadium.

The Titans started the game by scoring three times on their first four possession of the opening half.
Quarterback Carson Glazier made a quick pitch to Shohfi who was able to find the end zone from four-yards out mid-way through the first quarter. The two connected again with 21 seconds left in the first quarter when Glazier completed the quick slant to Shohfi who ran it in from 55-yards. The Titans lead 14-0 at the end of first.
The Shofi show continued when he scored his second rushing touchdown from ten-yards out, extending his teams lead to 21.
Arroyo finally answered back with 5:28 in the second quarter when quarterback Humberto Pantoja ran it in from five-yards out. The Knights were able to force the Titans to punt on their ensuing possession however, they fumbled the ball turing it back over to San Marino.
Glazier connected with Shohfi for a 52-yard touchdown with 1:37 left in the second pushing their lead 28-7. Following a botched kick-off  by the Knights, SM scored again when Mark Wicke pounded his way into the endzone from one-yard out, 44 seconds from their previous score.
San Marino lead 35-7 at the end of the first half.
The Titans added two more scores in the second half pushing their lead to 49-10.
Arroyo place kicker Jesse Ortiz converted a 33-yard field goal with 2:27 left in the third.

***”We have a great quarterback”, said Shohfi. “Thats just Carson, you know?  Thats just what he does. I’ve been with him for a long time now and he’s the greatest quarterback I have ever played with.”
***”He’s one of those rare kids”, said Hobbie on Glazier. “I’m just lucky to be able to share this part of his life with him and have him on our football team.”

***”I think our passing game was pretty efficient tonight”, said Titan Head coach Mike Hobbie “Our quarterback saw the field well.”

***San Marino Wide Receiver Aiden Santino 11 catches for 155 yards and 1 touchdown.
***San Marino hosts Sierra Vista next week at San Marino High school.
***Arroyo Quarterback Humberto Pantoja – 15-27 passing for 132-yards. Thirteen carries for 78-yards with one rushing touchdown.
