Kick it!

Faith Hill leaving Sunday Night Football? What a drag…It’s the most depressing news I’ve heard since being told Chris Capuano had rejoined the Dodgers pitching rotation.

Rumors are like elbows, everybody has two…Except me I’ve got three elbows delivering me stuff about pending realignment in the divisions. Two inside, one outside:

Pasadena Marshall is coming to the Mission Valley League…The schools in the MVL do not want this, but according to two of three sources they will not be able to stop it when the Foothill Area meets this Friday and votes.

The second rumor all three of my elbows confirmed part, to all, of this story. Crescenta Valley and Arcadia join the Rio Hondo League.

I thought this one was interesting. CV and Arcadia would fit in the RHL, but no one gave me a word about Blair or Monrovia. With enrollment at less than 700, Blair’s athletic future looks none too promising.

I didn’t hear anything about M-Town going to the Pacific.

Honestly, the gap has closed between much of the Pacific and the Rio Hondo. There’s only a handful of Southeast teams that wouldn’t fit in the Mid-Valley Division.

La Mirada’s Dallis Todd verbals Oklahoma…Did not think it would be Oklahoma…

Another offer rolls in for Matadores tackle Michael Trani. Nevada has made him an offer.

Expect word to come down this week on Northview’s Javon Taylor and Roy Torres signing with NAIA schools.

Taylor will go to Mid America Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas. Teammate Roy Torres, linebacker, will play football for Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. These schools will meet in October in Atchison.

“We are very proud of these two guys,” says Northview HC Marcel Perez.

Next Add Rumors: As of now, the proposal for the “Crescent League” is dead. That means we will not see a league comprised of Marshall, Blair, Keppel, Hoover, Glendale, etc. etc….

Last Add Rumors: These rumors have been dispelled: Albert Sanchez will not comeback as the Gladstone HC, His Arroyo Baldness is not purchasing Rogaine, Matt Koffler is not running for political office, and Peterson is not buying lunch anytime soon.

When a sportswriter wants to sound hip, in tune, or a make a pretense of being profound they say something in the form of: “Can we stop using the word great? That word gets thrown around way too much.”

So at the risk of sounding like the above, can we stop using the word tragedy to describe what happened in Boston yesterday?

If you’ve been to the fourth floor at Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles that’s what tragedy is. A drunk driver killing a loved one that is a tragedy.

When someone starts shooting people in a theater, at a school, uses a knife to do the same, or sets off bombs (loaded with shrapnel) at the end of the Boston Marathon that is not a tragedy…its an atrocity.

The Dude abides…
