Weston's Vintage Cider

The brutality
Of a proper Record Night…
Awesome to behold.

Name: Weston’s Vintage Cider
Type: cider
Venue: house

Review/notes: Record night strikes again.  I’ve mentioned it, with due awe, several times in these pages and last night lived up to the hype.  We went through a holiday weekend’s worth of vodka in 6 hours of album exploration after a couple of bottles of wine greased the skids.  I had the good sense to eat a handful of codeine before bed and recognising that Jackie did not, saved her a couple of tablets for the painful morning ahead.  With three ciders for £5 on offer up at the news stand, we breakfasted on cheese and mushroom omelets (fat and protein) washed down with Weston’s Vintage (8.2% abv and slightly oaked but with enough sugar to re-equilibrate the blood glucose).

I distinctly remember when denial (repeated declarations of “this is NOT Record Night”) turned to acceptance (“oh, well, since it’s Record Night do you want to pour one more”) and regret (“you and your fucking Record Night…fetch me some cider”).
