Otter Eagle Watchfield

He studied the glass,
Frowned and then set it aside,
Then pulled another.

Name: Otter
Type: bitter
Venue: The Eagle, Watchfield

Review/notes: This is always a wonderful bar and the haiku for today reflects why.  I saw nothing wrong with the pint pulled for me and was reaching for it when something (I still don’t know what) caught the bartender’s eye.  Pulling it back he mumbled, “I can do better than that.”  Setting that glass down (perhaps for himself…it looked perfect) he got a fresh glass and pulled anew.  What appeared to be identical to the first, I can only vouch for as flawless.

I drank a lot more Otter back east because it appeared in my local pubs so frequently which is strange since it is a Devon brewery that makes it and I would expect it more out here.  Still, mid-run break when you see an Otter pump clip: nothing beats it.
