The Ludlow Arms has a plain façade and is set off from a larger collection of pubs and on the road out-of-town but on entrance I found five pumps of interesting ales and a cider waiting at the crowded bar. In such a place, you shouldn’t be surprised to find a Happy Slapper to pull and I took mine to a quiet corner to decide on my next couple of miles as the running continued after a rail link.
This is truly an awesome house and to find it so crowded and noisy on a weekday afternoon was a joy. Westbury could become a pub crawl without having to travel more than 50 meters between bars, but you should start (and possibly end) at the Ludlow.
