When I looked at the date on my notes for this table runner I was a bit stunned – September 1988! Over 20 years ago? How did that happen? I wove this on my first loom which was a 4 shaft Cherryville counterbalance, a loom that used to be made in British Columbia near a town called Cherryville.
This is woven with 5/2 mercerized cotton sett at 45 epi and 10 ppi. I remember making a shed was difficult with the close set and I used a shed stick to make sure it was evenly separated and to help pack the weft in properly. The thick weft was 4 threads, the thin 1 thread.
