II. Buddhist spiritual/religious activities

2.1.Vajra Guru Thondup – 100 millions of Vajra Guru mantra recitation began on Sept 22 and will last until Oct 4. See: www.padmasambhava.org Sikkhim, India. Join this enlightened event and  increase your merit by reciting Vajra Guru mantras at least 108 times a day at your home or at the Dharma center.

PRESENCE OF GURU RINPOCHE : Lotus-born Buddha Padmasambhava is the  emanation of Buddha Shakyamuni and of Buddha Amitabha . In 9^th century AD He stayed in Tibet for 55,5 years and left on the Sun beam. Tomorrow, Sept 28 is 10^th lunar day, dedicated to Guru Rinpoche in His form as Guru Nyima Ödser (Guru, Rays of the Sun). He promissed to be present in this human realm especially on every 10^th lunar day. At such special days the recitation of His mantra OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PEMA SIDDHI HUM multiplies together with positive energy of the devotee. Take your time tomorrow and recite the mantra with full peace and attention . OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PEMA SIDDHI HUM…. In Sikkhim there is very big statue of Guru Rinpoche. Another statue is at the Jokhang temple in Lhasa (see Wikipedia). All sacred statues of Guru Rinpoche are representatives of Him. All sacred texts with his heart instructions are representative of His Enlightened Awareness. And His mantra OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PEMA SIDDHI HUM represents His Enlightened Speech. With such understanding one can be transferred directly to the Enlightened state/dimension of the Lotus-born Guru. This is true meaning of Zhangtal – as refered in the Wishgranting prayer of Samantabhadra, which tertön Guru Chöwang received directly from Buddha Padmasambhava (see Visual Dharma: Wish-granting prayer of Samantabhadra).

How to practice in easy and relaxed way, during Vajra Guru Thondup ? Sing 7-line invocation of Guru Rinpoche several times: 3,5 or 7 times, as shown in the Visual Dharma. See it in full screen modus. Follow the practice with attention. At the end add your own 108 Vajra Guru mantra recitation. Then  dedicate your merit with the Verse : Wish-fulfilling Gem of dedication as written above. Recite loudly and with peaceful awareness. Be comfortable during the days and nights, knowing that Lotus-born Buddha Padmasambhava is always at your side or in your heart.

When you have time, study the Dharma teaching/research published on description of related Visual Dharmas : 7-line invocation, Teaching about 7-line invocation, Dances of Eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche . May your Dharma practice in daily life be auspicious ! For this we pray and meditate together, benefiting countless beings ….

Collective meditations and prayers are also continued during Vajra Guru Thondup period, every Sunday 4-5 pm (GMT+1) or according to your local time.

Truth. Thank you for your invite.Please tell me, with trust in the ultimate compassion of the enlightened one can you assure me i am on the right path?Is all duality illusion and what does this mean for the true seeker of absolute truth?I hope you like the music-‘Buddah storm’

Answer : Yes, trust in the ultimate compassion of the Enlightened ones must be always present. This  is faith. You are on the right path if you keep the five ethical precepts : becoming vegetarian, not drinking alcohol, no drugs or their substitutes , no sexual misconduct, no lies, not stealing etc.. Only these ethical precepts which are on the Buddhist path called the Five silas or self-diciplines, can assure one to proceed on the spiritual path toward liberation from samsara. Yes, ultimately spaeking : duality is an illusion, but also illusions must be respected. One must live  a life according to the truths about karma, performing only virtuous actions (karmas) and avoiding unvirtuous actions (akusala karmas). Then, gradually, with purification of one´s karma, there are insights into the ultimate nature of Reality (non-duality). Buddha Padmasambhava is especially teaching : Descend with the View, asced with the conduct. This Dharma is very important for all seekers of ultimate Truth…

Have a great day on Dragon Island. I’m going to a vegetarian food fair in Toronto. My parents take me every year and it kind of end of summer event for my family. We are all vegetarians but it took time, family unity and commitment. Have a happy day on Dragon Island. :)) Thank you for keeping in touch. :))    Anneese

a)Dear Tara Tulku Rinpoche,thank you for the advice.I can abstain from meat,alchohol and recreational drugs but i am prescribed substitute medication for opiate addiction,anti-anxiety drugs and major tranquillizers.Will i still be capable of realizing absolute liberation?Sometimes i doubt such a condition or non condition exists,at others i believe i have already found it so to speak.How would you respond?Your reply will be much appreciated.Thank you.

Answer: Dear Friend  of Buddha Dharma,

it is very encouraging for you that you can obstain from meat, alcohol and recreational drugs. Substitutes for opiate addiction, anti-anxiety drugs and tranqulizers are harmful for your health. Speak with your physician if he / she supports alternative, natural treatments. If he/she don´t support these beneficial treatment, find another physician who has knowledge about natural therapies. At Buddhist Wholesome medicine we have therapies who support detoxification of energy. We prescribe Universal healing tonic, Healing tea, physical exercises (Buddhist Chi Kung energy workout),Vajrasattva meditation , vegetarian diet with guidance. In severe cases we prepare individual formulae for purification. But these therapies must be followed exactly over longer period, depends how much your body is poisoned. b) How can i live a Buddhist life in an urban setting? aka The city

Answer : Beautify your appartment or house . Arrange it according to Feng Shui principles and you will feel comfortable and more happy always. Plant trees or bushes and grow your own medicinal plants in a garden or even appartment´s balcony. Tokyo for example is mega city, but Japanese developed great Green movement and understanding, as recent documentaries show. We must all save the planet by becoming vegetarians and going green !

In pleasurable environments of our dwellings meditation and peace naturally occurs. Use our Visual Dharmas to support you in spiritual progress: iew them in full screen modus.  Recite verses from  Visual Dharmas aloud, pray with Verses of Prayer to Eight noble auspicious ones ….And  may all be auspicious in your life *****

c) Dear venerable Sir , please enjoy my question , thank you . In the six cosmologies of Buddha , Angels or Gods are beings of the highest realm  and the hell beings are more difficult to live . The angels or Gods , the demons , the hungry ghosts , the hell beings are living in the immaterial worlds .
Q.103 – Can their populations grow as human beings too ?

Answer : 75 % of human population are rebirths from lower realms (animals, hungry ghosts, hell realm beings). This explains why majority of human beings eat meat and experience all kinds of violence . With meat eating they create atmosphere of fear, insecurity and violence. This is majority collective karma on this planet earth. Buddhist teachings also explain that those humans who eat meat all their lives, will not be reborn as humans again. They will be reborn as animals. This could be surprising for some, but it´s not our invention ! From upper realms in samsara (formless realm, form realm with gods, angels and other beneficial beings), down to desire realm with humans, the population increases . It is difficult to be reborn in upper realms of samsara because one must have a lot of positive energy/merit. It is very easy to be reborn in lower realms of samsara : animals, hungry ghosts, hell realms.

The car goes downwards just by itself, but driving upwards one need energy…Therefore some find the Dharma practice or any spiritual practice uninteresting or tyring….

Human being with a lot of ignorance will be reborn as an animal. Human being with ignorance + stigyness will be reborn as hungry ghost. Human being with ignorance+stingyness+aggression will be reborn in the hell realms. This explains how beings transmigrate in samsara – cyclic existance of birth, sickness, old age and death. May all be soon liberated into Pure land of Buddha Amitabha.

Dear Friend, your next question (about Buddha Amitabha) will be answered next week. May peace and happiness be upon all of us always. OM MANI PADME HUM
