I’m not sure whether I should classify this as a ghost story, or a “monster” story, but in my mind what happened in my life seems paranormal.
I’ll start by telling one of the scariest things I’ve ever heard in my life. I was 14 years old at the time. I lived in my grandparents old house with my parents, my 3 brothers, 2 sisters and my cousin Brayden.
Brayden’s parents didn’t keep care of him very well his whole life, so he was somewhat troubled but still a pretty normal kid like the rest of us. He was a year younger than me, so I guess we could say we were the same age. He was living with us for only a short time, about 4 months. My father had a very important job as a leader of our small community, so he and my mother were always away for business trips.
One night while the parents were away on a trip (we never had babysitters since my sister was 17) we all decided we would drink alcohol (since it was new and exciting at the time) my older brother and sister invited a few of their friends over and got one of them to buy us all booze. The night had just started, and we were all in the basement. Suddenly, Brayden came racing downstairs (he wasn’t into the drinking) he was in tears, completely terrified. We all stopped to ask what was wrong. His story went somewhat like this:
He claimed he was upstairs, minding his own business. He went to the kitchen to grab a cup of water, but something caught his eye outside. Thinking it was an animal (bears, moose, deer and coyotes are common in our area) he put his face and hands on the glass to get a better look at the dark outdoors. Looking out towards the bushes he claimed he saw something that literally changed him. He saw a figure of what looked like an animal almost, but much worse. The first word he used to describe this “thing” was ugly. He said it was ugly, with large piercing red eyes. Not a glowing red, but dark red he said. He said it was staring at him, like it knew it was scaring him. He backed away from the window slowly but still kept eye contact with the creature. He said it turned it’s head sideways like a kitten would, almost playful..and then smiled at him. He said it was absolutely terrifying. This was nothing he’d ever seen before, and it smiled with a large teeth baring smile. He said it’s teeth were yellow, and all pointed. At that point he lost control and tears filled his eyes, and he ran to the basement but demanded none of us look outside.
Everyone, being buzzed and feeling brave, went upstairs and checked out the windows and doors.
One of our friends even went outside to look. There was nothing there. No scary animal, no ghost, nothing. Thinking he’d lost his mind, everyone shrugged it off except me. Brayden finally got the nerve to go back upstairs. I accompanied him into the upstairs bedroom, and stayed there with him until he slept. I was really scared, and I truly believed him. To this day I still get chills thinking about it, and wondering why it only came to see him.
I know this seems like a monster story or unfitting for this site, but I believe this being was an evil spirit, sent to scare us with it’s presence. Believe it or not, I have never seen Brayden cry or be so terrified of anything, and that’s why I believe him when he says it just wasn’t right.

Yikes that was spooky ! Tell us tho,how is Brayden doing these days ? He is well,yes? I truely do hope so because that was a lot to take in for someone so young and what he saw(assuming it’s true of course ) will stay with him throughout the rest of his lifetime,and that’s for sure !! Good luck !
I think it is a demon. There are so many of them everywhere in our everyday life. The good part is you guys didn’t get hurt and it didn’t keep bothering you.
I saw the eyes when I was a child and until I found this sight thought it might have been something else but now I’ve read that it has happened to a lot of people so now I believe there is a demon that maybe feeds off of children,s fears
honestly i don’t think it was a demon. it probably was a animal. some people just like the idea of thinking demons and evil are following them. this kid obviously didn’t ask for a demon so why would one appear to him!
do you two talk after what happened?weather its true or not of course those people arent going to believe Brayden because everyone was drinking. they were probably to drunk to care.well if it did happen sorry that he was scared and crying.but if it was all a joke then he did it because you guys were drinking and he wasnt.never know.thanks for the story.

Sometimes drugs and alcohol channel into the paranormal with some people. I know because it happened to me when I was 19. Also demons sometimes come at children or young adults. They are more sensitive to the spirit world. Your cousin Brayden was a troubled youth so he is a target for an attack from a demon. These things come at troubled people sometimes. But overall Brayden may be more sensitive than you or your other family members. I would really believe Brayden. Has he seen anything else. I was just wondering if that thing could be following him around.
I think that it is was a demon aswell, some of the more Paranormal cryptids i reckon are,
I myself think this was very possibility a paranormal thing ,as I had a similiar think happen to me when I was akid, never have nor will forget it ,a story later,but I think that kids are more in tune with the paranormal and the psychic.

kind of weird, really big coincedence too, I also have a cousion named Brayden (which is a unique name and whats makes it weird is that the Brayden I know and the Brayden you know are cousions to us) anyway besides that, did he do any type of drugs?? I mean that can definetly cause him to lets say, trip out. Well anything could of played a factor in this roll, especially considering it was likely a prankster or even if anyone was doing heavy drugs at the time that maybe the fumes could of got him a little up there. Well good luck and im glad “it” doesnt regularly bother you.

in our culture there is an creature called kapre which is very big had red eyes and yellow teeth and always smokes tobacco
Anna why are mostly skeptical, sarcastic, and critical of most of the stories on this site? You make it hard for people to open up. Excuse me if I am wrong, but this site is a site I thought was for sharing. Sometimes it isn’t wjat you say, but how you you say it. To the author interesting story.

well I found you really mean but having read many of your comments and even liking some of them, i realize that it is not you, but the way you say things and express yourself sometimes, that could lead others think that.
Slow down and bit and think about what you are going to say rather than just rushing to post after reading a story. You will find that you will communicate better and there will be less chance that people will mistake something you said thinking it was mean.

see i cant read your face since all we can is read each-others words and thats what I THINK.and for me it sounds like it and no i dont want us or anyone to get into and throw it out of perpotion.i do think what i write sometimes i dont even know how to say it and end up not even writing anything.if i dont like a story or dont care for it or dont know how to say something i dont comment.sorry the way i took what you said wrong but thats just me.
It could be the michigan dogman. If you look up the offical website and read the first two earily encounters they seem to be similar to yours.
Oddly enough, one of the scarier things that has ever happened to me involved a creature like this. Myself and 5 other people were followed by something like this. I will post about it soon.

Hope everyone like its, it took a lot out of me to get it out, I guess things like this always do. Everyone that posts on this site takes a big leap of faith in sharing these deeply emotional things with us and for many I am sure that it is a hard thing to do.
