“Chaalis Din”(1959) aka “Forty days” was directed by Dwarka Khosla for Zar Productions, Bombay. The movie had Premnath, Shakila, K N Singh, Maruti, Nishi, Shammi, Chaman Puri, Cuckoo, Bhagwan etc in it.
The movie had eight songs in it. Four songs from the movie are represented in the blog. All these songs were discussed in 2011. after a lull of six years, here is the next song from “Chaalis Din”(1959) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Kaifi Azmi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Baabul.
The song is picturised as a club song on Shakila, with most leading characters in the movie in attendance.
I have noticed that Asha Bhonsle tends to pronounce “jhoothh” as “jhoot”, not only in this song but in other songs as well. So she sings the song as “jhooti mohabbat jhooti adaayen”. Nevertheless I have noted down those words as they should be pronounced.

Song-Jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen (Chaalis Din)(1959) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Kaifi Azmi, MD-Baabul
Lyrics
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhon se dil na laga
kaun hai tera ho kaun lutera
kaun hai tera kaun lutera
dekh ke aankh mila aa aa
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat
pal mein marne waale dil pe nahin mar sakte
matlab ke bande
pyaar nahin kar sakte
pyar nahin kar sakte
ho pyaar hai inka dhokhha ho dhokhha
chaal mein inki na aa
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhon se dil na laga
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat
jisko dekha phaansa
hai ye shikaari aise
mast ada ne jinki
tode hain dil kaise kaise
haaye
tode hain dil kaise kaise
ho inki adaaon se bachna ho bachna
denge tujhko daga aa aa
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhon se dil na laga aa
kaun hai tera ho kaun lutera
kaun hai tera kaun lutera
dekh ke aankh mila aa aa
jhoothhi mohabbat jhoothhi adaayen
jhoothhi mohabbat

Good observation that Ashaji pronounces ‘Jooti’ instead of ‘Joothi’. From years I have noticed that while singing Shlokas, almost all the artists pronounce ‘SahaSRA’ as SahSTRA’, including our dear Lataji, who is very particular about correct pronunciation.
