Kaahe ko diyaa jalaaya

on:Having discussed well over seven thousands songs in the blog, we are now in a position to pursue several milestone related targets. Target of centuries of songs by various artists is one. Another cherished target is to ensure that all songs of movies are discussed in the blog. By now over sixty artists have reached their centuries. Likewise, over 240 movies (adding up to over 1700 songs) have all their songs covered in the blog.
While trying to complete the centuries of songs for artists from 1930s and 1940s, we need to look for songs which are rare and in a few cases they are not available on YT. In that case we have to look for these songs from our own resources.
This thing sometimes happens during our attempts to complete all the songs of movies as well. This happens especially for older movies.
The oldest movie where all songs have been discussed in the blog is “Achhoot Kanya” (1936). This movie was a very important movie in the annals of Hindi and Indian movies and its prints are fortunately still readily available. “Dushman” (1939) is the second oldest film with all its songs discussed.
Then 1857 (1946) is the third oldest movie with all its songs discussed. Then there are several movies in late 1940s and then 1950s onwards where all songs have been discussed.
“Moorti” (1945) had ten songs in it. Not one song from this movie was discussed in the blog till august 2011. It was only when I undertook the mission to complete Bulo C Rani’s century of songs that I discovered this movie and began to discuss its songs. Having completed the mission of Bulo C Rani’s century, I did not post any more songs from this movie till recently.
Then songs of this movie began to get discussed again while discussing rare Mukesh songs, and later Pt Indra Chandra’s songs. And I discovered that we were on the verge of completing all the songs of this movie, having discussed the ninth song (out of ten) yesterday.
But when I searched for the tenth song today on YT, I drew a blank. This song was too rare even by YT standards. So I had to do what I do in such cases. In such cases I try to search within my collection. If it is not there with me that I request Sudhir Ji to find it in his collection. If it is not there in his collection too, then he searches for it with his other rare song collector friends.
In this case all that longwinded process was not required. Just as I thought that I may not be having this song with me, I managed to discover it.
Here is this delightful song from “Moorti” (1945). This song is sung by Hamida Bano. Pt Indta Chandra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bul C Rani.
With this song, “Moorti” (1945) becomes the third oldest movie to have all its songs covered in the blog.

Atulji,
Your efforts in placing the songs with respect to films, artists, contibutors, type of songs, lyric writer, music directors, various stastical figures etc are indeed commendable. Its even difficult to find a praiseworthy term for your works.
This “all songs from a movie” is a special treat as the blog is one point source with accurate information for such searches. I remember the old audio cassette days, wherein, two film combination in a single cassette used to have a few songs missing from the film and it was so frustrating to find the remaining songs.
Thanks a ton for the good work.
