on:“Warrant” (1961) was a Shanti Niketal Films Production. It was directed by Kedar Kapoor. The movie had Ashok KUmar, Raj Kumar, Shakila, Cuckoo, Helen, Dhumal, Raj Mehra, Baburao etc in it.
Today (22 july 2013) is the 90th birth anniversary of Mukesh (22 july 1923- 27 august 1976). On this occasion, here is a song from “Warrant” (1961). This song is sung by Lata and Mukesh. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Roshan.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturise. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
Song-Nainon mein kyun aan base (Warrant)(1961) Singers-Lata, Mukesh, Lyrics-Prem Dhawan, MD-Roshan
Lyrics
nainon mein kyun aan base ae
do nain tumhaare
loota hai haseenon ne hamen ae
kyun karke ishaare
nainon mein kyun aan base ae
do nain tumhaare
karke bahaana ye ankhiyaan
dil ko nishaana kar hi gayin
teri bhi nigaahen kam to nahin
hamko deewaana kar hi gayin
ye jaadu hai ya tona
ke kuchh to kaho na
ke dil ye hamaara sajnaa aa aa
nahin bas mein hamaare
o ho ji
nahin bas mein hamaare
loota hai haseenon ne hamen ae
kyun karke ishaare
sapnon mein aate ho poochhe bina
jaao ji na hamse baat karo
gorey gorey mukh se hataao zulfen
din ko na aise raat karo
na itna sataao
hamen na tadpaao
ke pehle hi se ham hain piya aa aa
tere pyaar ke maare
o ho ji
tere pyaar ke maare
loota hai haseenon ne hamen ae
kyun karke ishaare
le ke chali hai jaane kahaan
dil mein uthhi jo halchal hai
do dil mil jaate hain jahaan
samjho wahin par manzil hai
na jaanoon main ye kyaa hai
bas itna pata hai
ke piya mera jiya
kho gaya aa aa
nainon mein tumhaare
o ho ji
nainon mein tumhaare
loota hai haseenon ne hamen ae
kyun karke ishaare
nainon mein kyun aan base ae
do nain tumhaare

Maheshji,
Your guess is as good as perfect regarding Shyam Sunder’s only song of Mukesh in Bhai-Bahen 1950. He has never used Mukesh thereafter. We appreciate your deep knowledge. Thanks.

I was very young, when the movie was released & it was given ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board, so I could not see the movie, which got some good reviews. I’ll like to see the film, if its video is available!
