“Shaadi Se Pehle” (1947) was a movie produced by Raja Nene Productions, Bombay It had actors like Ranjna,Rajan,Vasant Thengri,Raja Nene, Leela Gadkar,Gokhale,Dixit,Bargir,Jivaji Kulkarni etc in it.
The names in the starcast ring no bells and for that matter even the musical team of this movie are quite unknown. Yet, this movie seems to have some songs of historical signifance, though this historical signifacance became apparent only much later.
This movie has the distinction of featuring the very first Rafi-Lata duet. This song Chalo ho gayi taiyyar (Shaadi Se Pehle) has already been discussed.
Likewise, this movie also has the very first bidaai song song by Rafi. Later he would sing such well known bidaai songs like Baabul ki duaayen leti jaa (Neel Kamal) , Baabul kaun ghadi ye aayi (Umang) and “Chalo re doli uthaao kahaar piya milan ki rut aayi (Jaani Dushman)”.
