Teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahin

Posted on: April 28, 2010

Where was this song lying all these days ? I thought I knew all about Madan Mohan songs, considering that I have posted over 100 of his songs and I have heard nearly 300 of his songs (out of 700). But I was humbled to realise that I am still unaware about many of his gems.

This song is from an obscure movie called “Chhote Babu” (1957). The song is a wonderful duet sung by Lata and Talat Mehmood. Indeewar is the lyricist. What a gem this song is !

Song-Teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahin (Chhote Babu) (1957) Singers-Lata,Talat Mehmood, Lyrics-Indeewar, MD-Madan Mohan

Lyrics

aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa

aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa

aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa

teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahi
ho ho ho ho
tu jo badhaa de haath zaraa, duniyaa ke sahaare kuchh bhi nahin
teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahi

maan liyaa dilkash hain bahut, ye raat haseen ye chaand jawaan
baat jo dekhi hai tujh mein, nazaaron mein wo baat kahaan
saamne mere tu ho agar, duniyaa ke nazaare kuchh bhi nahin
teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahi
aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa

saath hai mere tu jab tak, roshan hain jeewan ki raahen
saath hai mere tu jab tak, roshan hain jeewan ki raahen
kyun ho mujhe manzil kaa gham, patwaar hain jab teri baahen
maanjhi hai gar tu naiyyaa kaa, toofaan ke dhaare kuchh bhi nahin
teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahi

baandh liyaa bandhan mein tumhen, bas mein kar liyaa bahaaron ko
hai ye wo bandhan jo kar de aazaad ghamon ke maaron ko
pyaar ki tere chhaanv mile to gham ke sharaare kuchh bhi nahin
teri chamakti aankhon ke aage ye sitaare kuchh bhi nahin

Hi Atul,

Good to see your site and happy to see that you liked this song too. It is one of my favorite Madan duets. “Chhote baabu” also contains one of my all-time favorite Talat songs, “do din kii mohobbat me ham ne”. Madan and Talat were truly a made-for-each-other duo. A combo I right a bit higher than Madan-Lata 🙂 !!!
