“House Number 44” (1955) is a movie so old that not too many people know about this movie. This movie had Dev Anand in lead role and it had music by S D Burman.
I have posted two songs from this movie, and both these songs are regarded as timeless classics. Here is another song from this movie. And guess what ? This song is regarded as a timeless classic too !
This song- “Chup hai dharti chup hain chaand sitaare” is sung by Hemant Kumar in his characteristically mesmerising voice. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. This song is a quintessential “chaayageet” song, which is best heard late at night when the words of this song sound so appropriate.

Disappointed that this song has been removed. Great voice of Talat and superb song.
