Dil lootne waale jaadugar

Posted on: May 21, 2009

This song from “Madari” (1959) was what catapulted Kalyanji Anandji to big league.

This song “dil lootne waale jaadugar” was written by Farooque Qaisar and it was sung by Mukesh and Lata. There have been “been” music in many songs, but apart from the “Nagin” song, very few songs employing this music have become that popular. This song is certainly one such song that has gone on to become a timeless classic.

Incidentally, the popularity of this song has increased with time. During its time, this song was not all that popular and this song failed to find a place in Binaca geetmala annual programme of that year.

Song-Dil lootne waale jaadugar (Madaari) (1959) Singers-Lata, Mukesh, Lyrics- Farooque Qaisar, MD- Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

dil lootne waale jaadugar
ab maine tujhe pahchaanaa hai
nazren to uthaa ke dekh zaraa
tere saamne ye deewaanaa hai

dil lootne waale jaadugar
ab maine tujhe pahchaanaa hai
nazren to uthaa ke dekh zaraa
tere saamne ye deewaanaa hai

ye chaand-sitaare dekh na len
mere pyaar ke naazuk bandhan ko
ye chaand-sitaare dekh na len
mere pyaar ke naazuk bandhan ko
aankhon mein chhupaakar rakh loongaa
is phool se komal tan-man ko
dheere se
dheere se kaho ye baat piyaa
jag apnaa nahin begaanaa hai
nazren to uthaa ke dekh zaraa
tere saamne ye deewaanaa hai

armaan thaa tujhko dekhoon main
saawan ki nasheeli raaton mein
armaan thaa tujhko dekhoon main
saawan ki nasheeli raaton mein
kho jaayen piyaa ham-tum donon
in pyaar ki meethi baaton mein
tu saamne
tu saamne hai to sab kuchh hai
warnaa ye chaman veeraanaa hai
dil lootne waale jaadugar
ab maine tujhe pahchaanaa hai

main pyaar ki maalaa goonthungi
aashaaon ki kaliyaan chun-chun ke
main pyaar ki maalaa goonthungi
aashaaon ki kaliyaan chun-chun ke
roothe na kahin mujhse duniyaa
ye baat tumhaari sun-sun ke
armaan bhare
armaan bhare dilwaalon kaa
duniyaa ne kahaa kab maanaa hai
nazren to uthaa ke dekh zaraa
tere saamne ye deewaanaa hai
dil lootne waale jaadugar
ab maine tujhe pahchaanaa hai

Another song I remember from the past – wish they had songs like this now. These tunes are so catchy and stay with you even after so many years! Thanks for the song, Atul.
