Gar tum bhula naa doge

Posted on: June 18, 2009

“Yakeen” (1969) is not remembered much today, but as was the case with almost every mainstream movie of those days, this movie had some nice music in it.

Here is a popular song from this movie. This song “gar tum bhula na doge” was sung by Rafi and picturised on Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore. Hasrat Jaipuri wrote the lyrics and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.

Now I have been informed by Khyati Bhatt that this song has a Lata version too. I have now included the link to Lata’s version too. The lyrics of this version are a sub set of the lyrics of Rafi version.

Song-gar tum bhulaa naa doge (Yakeen) (1969) Singer-Rafi/Lata, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics

gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach hi honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach hi honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
ham-tum judaa na honge

maalik ne apne haathon
jis dam hamen banaayaa
daali dilon mein dhadkan
aur dil se dil milaayaa
phir pyaar kaa farishtaa
duniyaa mein le ke aayaa
gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach hi honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
ham-tum judaa na honge

patthar ki hain lakeeren
ahde wafaa hamaare
hargiz na mit sakenge
naamon nishaan hamaare
chaahat ki manzilon par
har saans ye pukaare
gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach hi honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
ham-tum judaa na honge

jeewan ke har safar mein
ham saath hi rahenge
duniyaa ki har dagar par
ham saath hi chalenge
ham saath hi jiyenge
ham saath hi marenge
gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach hi honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
ham-tum judaa na honge
gar tum bhulaa na doge
sapne ye sach

I remember seeing this movie as a young boy. There is also a song which Dharam sings in a car or jeep. I used to enjoy that song at that time. At that age you enjoy such songs. 🙂

Atulji,
According to the web info, you have covered all songs of this movie. Lata version of this song has two paras which are similar to last two of Rafi version. So, if you include video of Lata’s version in the write up, Pradeepji will be glad to post his 🙂 moment. Arunji’s confirmation will help.
