Bahaaren phir bhi aayengin

Posted on: April 20, 2009

It is not uncommon to have great songs coming out of movies whose names are not known to many people.

How many people know that there was a Bollywood movie called “Lahore” (1949) ? Not too many people, I am sure. But this movie had a nice song sung by Lata which is remembered even today.

This song is “baharen phir bhi aayengi magar ham tum judaa honge”. This nice poignant song was picturised on a very young Nargis.

Song-Bahaaren phir bhi aayengi (Lahore) (1949) Singer- Lata, Lyrics- Rajinder Krishan, MD-Shyam Sundar

Lyrics

nazar se door jaanewaale
dil se door na karna
meri aankhon ko rone par
kahin majboor na karna
bahaaren phir bhi aayengi
magar ham tum judaa honge
ghataayen phir bhi chaayengi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren

jahan chhup chhup ke ham milte
jahan chhup chhup ke ham milte the
saajan wo gali ham ko phir bulaayegi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren phir bhi aayengi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren

sandesha pyaar ka laayegi
saawan ki jawaan raaten
pawan choo karbhi jaayegi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren phir bhi aayengi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren

jahan chhup chhup ke ham milte the
saajan wo gali ham ko ishaaron se bulaayegi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren phir bhi aayengi
magar ham tum judaa honge
bahaaren

Atul I just got this dvd from India. I always liked another song from Lahore ” Duniya hamare pyaar ki uhi jawaa rahe, main bhi wahi rahoo mera sajan jaha rahe” This song is sung by Lata mangeshkar and Karan Devan, who was the hero of the movie too.Indeed Nargis too looks very young in the movie.Shyam Sunder was the outstanding music director.
Movie revolves round Nargis and Karan Dewan falling in love in city of Lahore previous to independence, getting seperated and eventually meeting in Delhi after independence, a muslim safeguarding her and bringing her to Delhi.
