Stadium Consultation Coming Up!

October 29, 2014

ConsultedTHE DFC Community Stadium Company Ltd and Denny’s Homes Ltd are holding a joint public exhibition of their proposals at the Rock between 11.00am and 7.00pm on Thursday 6th November, and between 11.00am and 5.00pm on Friday 7th November 2014.

We are encouraging as many Sons fans as possible to go along, see what is being proposed, and have your say.

Members of the project team will be on hand to explain the plans and to receive comments. There will also be a questionnaire and form from the developers for you to fill out.

In addition, we will seek to ensure that trust board members are around as much as possible during the exhibition, and you can also write directly to our communications and projects officer Simon Barrow (simon.barrow@ekklesia.co.uk) with your views, questions suggestions and ideas.

We will also create space on this website and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/sonstrust) for comments. There is also our Twitter feed, @Sonstrust. We’ve also just sent out an e-mailing, from which this is adapted.

In addition, we are holding a General Meeting for face-to-face discussion at the Abbotsford Hotel on Wednesday 26th November at 7pm. More information about that will follow.

Those attending the Scottish Cup tie against Rangers this Saturday, 1st November, will also get a newsletter with a Question & Answer in preparation for the consultation. We also have a note on the Supporters page of the matchday programme, Sons View.

Altogether, our aim is to ensure that everyone has the maximum opportunity to get informed, to take a view, to input their ideas, and to help shape the Sonstrust response and engagement with these proposals.

Please put the dates above in your diary straight away!

DFC Community Stadium Company Ltd? For clarity I think it is worth pointing out that this is not Dumbarton Community Stadium Ltd the holders of the 100 special category C shares in Dumbarton FC

    That’s right, Rab.

I am a season ticket holder but due to working in Leeds midweek cannot make any consultation meetings. I am against any stadium move as I like walking to the ground. A move to Young’s Farm would cost extra for me in travel costs. We should instead build extra seating at current venue and perhaps try and obtain the extra land near the stadium for facilities.
