Chinatown Partnership, East Midtown Partnership, Madison Avenue Business Improvement District and SUNY’s Confucius Institute for Business joined forces to present “Madison Street to Madison Ave”, bringing the joyous celebration of Lunar New Year from historic Chinatown to the Upper East Side on February 6, 2016.

Dragon dancers and lion dance troupes travelled from Madison Street by double-decker bus, arriving at East 76th St. and Madison Ave to perform, prior to the historic signing ceremony celebrating the partnership of the Madison Avenue BID with the Bund Association for Promotion of Commerce & Trade, Shanghai, China.

The Lion dancers continued down Madison Avenue to East 54th Street. The Harman Store and 527 Madison Avenue hosted Lunar New Year family entertainment and musical performances. www.eastmidtown.org/lunarnewyear.
