Based on my ‘average’ ephemeris, the Pisces nano-age decan and overflow (the full bell curve) is in force commencing October 2013, peaking in February 2014 and ending its overflow period in July 2014. The Pisces quasi nano-age (i.e. the upper half of the bell curve) is January to April 2014. The Pisces nano-age decan is the first of three decans of the Cancer nano-age (October 2013 – December 2014).  This Cancer nano-age is the last nano-age of the Cancer micro-age (February 2000 – December 2014).  The world is entering the business-end of Cancer as it heads into its powerful overflow period.  Many events currently occurring in the world will blend with Cancer.

Already there is clear evidence that the Pisces nano-age decan has made its influence felt such as: the Obamacare crisis in US due to the debt crisis ceiling; J.P. Morgan Chase’s massive fine for deceptive trading; the London slavery scandal; Nigella Lawson accused of being a drug addict; disputed Chinese airspace over disputed islands; major oil spill/leak in China; worldwide economic mini-bubble; Pacific nuclear pollution following the Fukushima nuclear disaster;  the mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Flight 370 and very recently the South Korean ferry disaster.  [i]All these events include strong archetypal connection to Pisces.  However Pisces is only a minor nano-age decan, and so we should expect events predicated by Pisces to be more a flavoring.  The main medium-term game in town is undoubtedly Cancer.

Despite the little Pisces nano-age decan being at the very bottom of the totem pole of the astrological ages, it is intrinsically enhanced because it is also the sign at the very top.  Pisces is the major sign currently in the world as the world is in the Pisces-Aquarius Age (1433-3574) where Pisces is the dominant paradigm but Aquarius is the strongest emergent influence.  The dominance of Pisces is reflected inasmuch the world is currently in the Pisces quasi-age (352 – 2503 AD) where Pisces is the absolute leader.  Quasi periods reflect the strongest sign at any point of time representing the upper half of the bell curve.  Secondly, most of the 20^th century was under the influence of the Pisces sub-age decan and overflow (1851-1910-1970) with the Pisces quasi sub-age decan (1881-1940) that included the First World War and the beginning of the Second World War.  This period was mostly likely Pisces’ swansong as it will take about another 26,000 for Pisces to be as strong in the world as it was in the 20^th century.  This means that Pisces-ruled European wars of self-destruction belong to the past, not the foreseeable  future.

Pisces is not only the defining sign for the current epoch, but also the key sign for Europe and the USA (the key difference between the two is that Europe’s supporting sign is Aries while for the USA it is Aquarius).  Under Pisces, symbolically represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions, anything associated with Pisces usually display schisms or splits.  This first occurred soon after the arrival of the Pisces-Aquarius in 1433 AD when Europe split between Roman Catholics and Protestants. Pisces is the sign of belief systems (especially with incredibly intricate dogmas etc).  In the previous age under Aries, Rome, and other powers basically were rooted in military might and patriotism.  Since Pisces has taken over the baton, now it is belief systems that govern the world and people will actually die for their beliefs.  The first thing discovered with belief-systems is there is no need for any reality to be present, as belief-systems are usually predicated upon fantasies that their adherents claim to be absolutely true, mixed with a little bit of truth or reality.   One such fantasy is that capitalism is the supreme or ‘right’ economic model for the world.  If ever the world is governed by delusion and illusion (or maya), this is the time we live in.  The Indians call this the worst of all ages, the Age of Kali Yuga.

The 20^th century Pisces hotspot manifested itself in Europe with the First World War, followed by another schism in the Second World War then finally by the Iron Curtain (Aries) splitting Europe longitudinally between capitalist democracies and communism (another belief-driven fantasy).  The USA appropriately  commenced its influential role in the Pisces sub-age decan and overflow (1851-1910-1970) with the American Civil War (1861-65) and by the conclusion of this Pisces period  was well and truly the Age Empire of our times.

The antecedents to our 2014 minor Pisces period sees its roots in the major Pisces sub-age decan and overflow (1851-1910-1970) where the geo-politics of the modern world was established.  This specifically applies to the unrest in the Ukraine which has reignited the former polarisation of Europe.  The innate tensions came to world’s attention in November 2013 when the Ukraine government rejected an economic association agreement with the European Union and instead turned to closer ties with Russia.  This commenced pro-European demonstrations supported by the majority of Ukraine’s population in its west.

In February 2014, very soon after the arrival of the more portent form of Pisces – the Pisces quasi nano-age (January to April 2014), the Russian-leaning president fled the scene and Ukraine appointed a European-leaning president after considerable civil unrest by the European-leaning population in the west.  The Russian-leaning eastern population commenced rejecting the authority of Ukraine’s central government and in March Crimea separated itself from Ukraine and was willingly annexed by Russia.  This irritated western powers and by the end of March Russia had been suspended from the G8 and the UN rejected Russian annexation of Crimea and the Crimean referendum that supported this annexation.  Further sanctions were put in place against Russia in April 2014 by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).[ii]

The association of the Ukraine crisis with the Pisces nano-age decan and overflow (October 2013 – February 2014 – July 2014) with the hottest action occurring in the Pisces quasi nano-age (January to April 2014) suggests that this issue will commence to sublimate itself into business-as-usual in the geo-political landscape by May, and that it ceases to be a real issue by around August 2014.

However, as mentioned earlier, these events are all occurring near the peak of the Cancer micro-age and overflow (2000-2015-2029).  All the countries invaded by the Vikings under the major Cancer age-decan overflow (713-1433 AD) have Cancer strongly placed in their respective astrological signatures.  The Vikings invaded the UK, Normandy (France) and Russia and were instrumental in the formation of the first Slavic governments in Russia in the 9^th century.[iii]

Therefore Russia has the backing of Cancer, which is not only strongly located in its astrological signature, but also strategically opposite Capricorn which is strategically located in the astrological signature of the USA.  Considering that both the USA and Russia share the sign Aquarius, and both nations have a relationship with Pisces, it is the Cancer-Capricorn opposition that defines their inherent opposition to each other.  This can further be demonstrated by the fact that Cancer is the sign of the common people and the common people of Russia violently threw off their capitalist overlords in the early years of the 20th century and formed the seed of the Communist Bloc that became the defining geo-political reality for the mid-20^th century.  On the other extreme, the USA is notably the most antagonistic to its common people in the Western World in relation to basic services such as health care and social security and is traditionally the major supporter of policies associated with the fundamentalist (Capricorn) Christian religion outlook in the Western World.

Based on this Capricorn-Cancer analysis  as a guide for relations between the USA and Russia, in the current period, Russia is holding the astrological cards as Cancer is in its 1^st house for Russia, but 7^th house of opposition and detraction for the USA.  It is extremely unlikely the western world will wrest Crimea from Russia regardless of whatever sanctions are put in place (Putin Place?) and that any headway the remaining eastern Ukrainians make in forging close ties with Russia before August 2014 will become cemented in Ukraine’s future political reality.

The only unanswered question here is the Scorpio quasi nano-age decan (May – Sep 2014) that must be passed through before Cancer becomes temporary absolute king of the castle.  Scorpio favors revolution and upheaval over continuity and stability.  It therefore favors the Russian-orientated areas of the former Ukraine because, though the initial revolutionary fervor came from the western European-orientated Ukrainians, this quickly passed to the eastern Russian-orientated population.   Under Cancer, Russia (and China) plus any other nations strongly aligned to Cancer (Scandinavia, lands on the Mediterranean, the Middle East, New Zealand etc.) will be astrologically favored – though this can mean an astrological focus either positive or negative.[iv]  In the same way that Pisces split Europe for most of the 20^th century, the current little Pisces period is indicating the same but on a much smaller scale.  Whatever split becomes entrenched in the former Ukraine, it is unlikely to be much of an issue by the end of 2014.

[iv] Another aspect of Cancer is that it is the key sign associated with colonization.  Under the Cancer sub-age decan and overflow (1791-1851-1910) the majority of the world (except North and South America) was colonized, one way or another, by European or Western powers.  Cancer the crab has powerful pincers, whatever it gets its pincers on, it does not like to let go.  Any country strongly associated with Cancer will portray this aspect of Cancer.  China, Russia and France all display this side of Cancer.  Even the UK, with its Cancer heritage, formed the British Commonwealth for its former colonies to keep its position as the ‘mother country’.  Cancer Russia will not readily let go of its new prized possession in the same way China will not let go of Tibet and France its colonies around the world.
