Birthday cupcakes

I was really excited and chuffed to be asked to bake 50 cupcakes for my friend’s little girl’s 5th birthday party. Being the mum of boys I LOVE getting to do girly things every now and again.

Thankfully my mum was in town to give me a hand with the order. She kept the kids out of my hair and did all the washing up – LEGEND!!!!

Lola wanted an array of multi-coloured swirly cupcakes but her mum held the decorations Birthday cupcakesback for the kids to adorn the cakes themselves as a party acitivity – great idea!

Here they are before the kids got their hands on them. I used a vanilla sponge and buttercream with gel colouring.

The cakes went down really well at the party… and kept the guests occupied for a little while at least! My friend was totally frazzled by the end of it, but I was pleased I could at least take the pressure of baking birthday cupcakes off her list of tasks!

If you’re in the West London area I’m available to make cupcakes to order, so do get in touch if it helps take the stress out of an impending party or celebration!
