A new joy of mine is green smoothies. They are so satisfying and refreshing…perfect for spring and summer days! I like to drink them in the morning for a energy boost, but they are great as pre or post workout snacks. The drink pictured above, my usual, contains:
1 TBSP of Amazing Grass Organic Wheat Grass powder
1 Banana (sometimes I put bananas in the freezer to make the drink thicker)
1 C Almond Milk
Dash of natural sweetener (optional)
4-5 Ice Cubes
Step 1: put all ingredients minus the ice cubes into a blender and blend away……..I would recommend putting the wheat grass in the blender first to avoid it shooting up all over the sides and top
Step 2: add the ice cubes, blend until smooth, ENJOY!
If you have trouble getting in your daily servings of vegetables or you just want an extra boost, I would recommend using wheat grass.
Benefits of Wheat Grass Include:
– Lowers blood pressure
– Cleanses blood, organs, and intestinal tract
– Stimulates the thyroid gland
– Neutralizes toxins
– Improves digestion
– Clears skin
– Increases energy
– Significant source of Vitamin C and Iron
Hey I love the new look of the site. Cant wait to try a smoothie!
I love wheat grass but where do you find that powder you speak of? Natural food store? Hopefully not strictly online…
I buy mine at Whole Foods. If you don’t have a Whole Foods, I would try a natural food store or possibly a nutritional supplement store. Hope this helps!
I like to put spinach in my green smoothies, too, and sometimes cucumber.
Thanks for the recipe!
