We don’t quite have snow here (lol) although it is a tad brisk in our part of the world today. Well, winter is coming, so ’tis to be expected. Hey, here’s a plan, come and visit me and you’ll be much warmer! Is Barry up to the trip yet? 🙂
Hoping the trees do OK. I am glad that the oak trees have not leafed out, for they would be harmed for sure. Winter coming…the world is upside-down! lol! Somehow I don’t expect Barry is QUITE up for a trip to Australia just yet…

Out of bed, Sybil! We have snowmen to make. I mean snowladies. Except…hey wait…the snow is already MELTED. Is it melted at your house, too?
Oh no!! Really?? The temperature did dip down here, but not a whole lot – it’s 35° now, high of 44°. This is only a dusting, so hopefully it will be gone soon (I just took a peek at your forecast for today – this won’t last!).
It didn’t last. Phew… False alarm, Holly. We can go back to aiming toward spring. Hey, what happened to our 80 degree temps?

Yes, winter is not quite done with us just yet!
Why won’t that winter just head south? Or retreat to the north? Or whatever she’s supposed to do this time of year? (We’ve been known to get snow in May…)
I am sad that there will not be enough snow to open the ski hill. Iron River MI. It’d be great for folks to post where their neck is…at least the state…
Do you ski, Bonny? I haven’t skied for years. I could tell you where most folks are from who have commented here. Not everybody, though. Did it snow down in Iron River? Ours all melted.
Our weather is “like a really pleasant summer”, I heard my husband remark to his brother who lives in Minnesota and will arrive here for a week’s visit this coming weekend. It is as though the Spring has compressed into 1/3 of the time that it usually needs to unfold. The Wild Azaleas that usually greet me at Mother’s Day and help me “celebrate” my birth at the end of May, began blooming before the 1st day of April, while the oak leaves were yet very red and tiny. It feels quite odd, I would say; but it is very pleasant here. We’ve already had days up to 92 degrees; and though it is a bit cooler here this week, still it climbs up a bit higher than predicted – yesterday was to be in the 60s but reached above 80. I keep wondering what the summer will be like here, in our normally hot and humid “jungle” of Missouri wilderness. Some at my yoga class last Saturday thought it might be a “moderate summer”, just as it was a moderate winter, if winter one could call it at all here., so very mild it was I certainly would not mind “moderate” for our summer. Time will tell.
That sounds very pleasant, indeed, Deb. Wild Azaleas! How beautiful. A few weeks ago we had temps in the 80’s but everything has turned cold in the last week or so. It will be interesting to see how our summer weather unfurls. Blessings, Missouri friend…

There is a chill in the air and a frost warning or two this week. This only seems odd because it’s been so warm. Our “normal last frost” date is closer to May 15.
The same here, Lisa. It’s been so odd! We often get frost into the first of June, brrrr. Who knows this year?

No new snow here on Beaver Island, though we still have small patches of it in the woods. Chilly this morning, though.

Chilly, sunny and perfectly normal for early April. Tiny snow blew early yesterday morning. I am worried about the tulips, out so early. And what will the Green Man do on May Day, with the forsthyia already bloomed? Something wonderful. Sending you love and Barry too. xoxoox S

It’s 64 degrees on our patio, with an expected high today of 94. The sun is shining, the birds are singing. We sleep with all the doors open. Moths come in and in the morning light, bump their soft, think bodies on the walls. The moon reveals her beauty above the roof, the boxers sing to the neighbor who is walking around on his roof, checking out the AC. Are we ready for another hot, hot summer? Why do I live here(?)oh yeah I have a good job. The palm fronds sparkle from their tall perch/poles. Lucky survivors, they weren’t harvested to be strewn along the Lord’s way on Palm Sunday. Now we have embraced Easter Sunday too, and they are both behind us in time. We march, march into the maw of summer–sort of like dancing toward the gates of gehennom. It’s a hot story. Always has been, always will be?
I love the thought of Arizona. (OK, Arizona at this time of year.) Doors open, soft moth bodies, sparkling palm fronds. Makes me want to visit asap. As for summer time baked like lizards in the desert…don’t know, Martha. But lots of people shudder thinking of our tundra-snow world in wintertime. Your summer is like our winter, perhaps.

Sounds like similar weather to what we had. It’s supposed to go up to the 50’s soon. Imagine you’ll have some of that warmer weather, too.

We are flitting from one season to the next here… daily, or even within one day.
Earlier this morning, cold and trying hard to drizzle, autumn-like weather,.. then this afternoon, the kids and the neighbours kids are playing on the pavement outside the house without jackets, it’s actually warm and was sunny(until an hour ago when grey clouds closed in).. spring-like weather.
Yesterday was so dark, cold and rainy it could have been mistaken for winter.
Tomorrow? Who knows? LOL!
Yep, it’s a chameleon time of year, Kiwi! We just don’t know. It’s interesting that you associate rain with winter over there. Grey and rainy sounds like spring weather to us.
It’s actually been gorgeous here– perfect weather for heading back to work. (Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing…)

If it’s raining a lot, we don’t even set up– not worth the risk of damaging the artwork. If it’s just a sprinkle, though, we set up for sure and people are still down on the causeway. 🙂
Yes, it’s supposed to snow in the mountains of CO later this week. Here in Denver, lovely spring is visiting and I hope she stays. (Just as I hope you stay, Kathy.),

It’s chilly here too…only 41 at 3 pm on Tuesday. It’s bright and sunny but windy so it feels cold outside. I know it’s going to be very cold tonight…even colder than last night so hopefully the newly budded lilacs and trees and shrubs will be ok. I haven’t planted anything yet…I wanted to but knew it was way too early. Stay warm and cozy tonight Kathy ♥

Your’s weather looks just like mine … snow this weekend was not a welcome sight. This morning it was 18º and we reached a high of about 32. Winter is back.

We’re tornado-free, thankfully, but the trees are losing their leaves, the wind is quite blustery, and there is a definite nip in the air – clear signs that winter is approaching here. Let’s hope you have some lovely warm days coming soon. And I’m sorry you might not have won the Morocco trip – but do keep trying, Kathy. Who knows where you might be jetting off to. 🙂

It’s nice today, but we had snow on Monday. I never count out winter until about May 15th. Even then… you never know. 😀

Its extremely hot and dry our side. Very dehydrating. very sunny during the day time. Waiting for the monsoons to arrive.
