Who is our biggest enemy?
Posted October 3, 2010
on:Whom do you consider your biggest personal enemy? I am not talking about our political views (Therefore, don’t think about any world power or any country you don’t like!).
I am talking about the enemy within every one of us e.g. anger, stress, nervousness or lack of confidence?
Do you think that we live two lives – one we live and one we ‘want’ to live! (Do you agree with this?)
What is ‘that factor’ which stops us from the life we want to live? I want to jog on daily basis, perform some exercise and reduce my weight. But there is an enemy within me which stops me to do so. I want to start my business. But there is an enemy within me which stops me to do so. I want to do ‘this’ and I want to do ‘that’, but there is an enemy which stops me all the time.
That enemy is:
Mr. Resistance!
Have you heard this story: A woman had cancer. She was told that she had only six months to live. She quit her job and started working for people who needed social welfare. She felt happier as she never was that happy ever. She was doing what she wanted to do. What is the end of story? She got cured!
Once Mr. Resistance is killed, results are amazing.
Do we need such a ‘dead line call’ to make us do what we want to do?
Now is an interesting part: Do you know that Hitler wanted to be an artist? At eighteen he took his inheritance, seven hundred kronen, and moved to Vienna to live and study. He applied to the Academy of Fine Arts and later to the School of Architecture. Have you ever seen one of his paintings? (Neither have I).
Resistance beat him.
Call it overstatement but I’ll say it anyway: it was easier for Hitler to start World War II than it was for him to face a blank square of canvas, over come resistance and follow his passion. (and perhaps, it’s the biggest enemy we face today)
“War of art” by Steven Pressfield is an interesting book on the topic of resistance and overcoming it. In next post, based on your response to this post, I will be writing on how to beat Mr. Resistance.
Your thoughts on this?

Like intangible things, the enemy within us is often overlooked. By giving it a name, “Mr. Resistance”, its look like a third party – a tangible thing. Now to fight with a visible enemy can be easier.

AOA sir,
thanks a lot for identifying our internal enemy and realizing us to have a look into ourself and to find out the enemy within ourself .
waiting for the suggestion to overcome and control the internal enemy
Dear Malik
Excellent work which you are doing. In our country very few people love to read. May be for any reason. I have Translation of an article of Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Shah which topic was “KITAB” which published in a Digest in two volume in which Shah Saheb motivated people to Read Books, kindly take some quotation from there and give place in your web site.
Congratulation again my cooperation and support will be always with you.
Best Regards

Well, “Mr.Resistance” is a very tough figure to compete with. I believe that its more or less your own “will” power that can overcome this seemingly impossible strength of Mr. Resistance! And will power is only possible if we have a positive attitude towards life, if instead of saying: I can’t, we start saying: I WILL!!
Mirza Sb, thank you very much for sharing such informative topics, will be waiting to read more on this

Dear Mirza sb
I agree with it that in all of us this habit of resistance is common which tend us not to step forward and wait for the time. Those who take initiative and move forward succeed in their lives.

the above is true up to the extent when you have the Pre-requisites in your pocket. As one cannot change the reality by changing the words.
