The Holy Grail

Hello everyone 🙂

Tonight my parents took me out to a local Irish restaurant called the Holy Grail. This place was buzzing with happy people nuzzled by the fireplace, laughing at the bar and eating some delicious comfort food. The atmosphere was cozy and joyful. I ordered the Portabello Mushroom sandwich which was topped with goat cheese, roasted red peppers and spinach and came on wheat berry bread with a side of sweet potatoe fries!

Yummmo, this was fresh, tasty and suprisingly satisfying despite the lack of meat.

I really ejoyed every part of the sandwich except it could have been hotter (temperature wise), but I think that it was because the restaurant was pretty busy so our waiter was a little slow on delivery.

My mom ordered the Pear and Goat Cheese Salad which was sprinkled with walnuts and cranberries and she said it was fantastic! And..my dad just had a cup of Beef Stew (he likes to keep it traditional) which he said was pretty good (and he is pretty picky).

Then for dessert we got the richest, most melt-in-your-mouth fudgy, chocolately, GIANT piece of cake that I have ever seen and we devoured it in under 2 minutes. It was heaven! So overall, this is my rating for The Holy Grail:

Ambiance: 5/5

Service: 4/5 (slow waiter)

Food: 4/5

Price: 3/5 (the cake was $6.95!)

Healthy Options: 4/5

Location: 5/5

Overall: 25/30

It was a great night out with my parents and I feel like my meal was jam packed with nutrients even though I was able to indulge a little at the same time. 🙂

  1. Hi Katie,
I agree with your write up about the Holy Grail except I thought the waiter was excellent and very timely.
