Its taken me a while but i have sussed out how twitter works…kind of

Everybody starts out in twitter by adding usually @stephenfry or @aplusk or @wossy or other similar higher echelon types.

I too started by adding as many ‘celebrities’ that I A.find interesting,B.have a vested interest in and C.would like to hear what they are rapping on about.

It took me a while to realise that there is a mass hierarchy going on,and i’d need to find my place in the food chain.i’d tweet a ‘celebrity’ regarding a topic they are tweeting about and nothing…a similar ‘celebrity’ would tweet them and i’d be sat back watching the tweets between,at first i would chip in with a comment-i know i’m a funny guy and not intellectually challenged so i knew i wasnt ‘tweeting shit’,still nothing…tumbleweed

Thats when it occurred to me about the pecking order and made me realise how some people who better themselves in life by discovering a modicum of fame refuse to glance back over their shoulder where they came from.

We all have that animal instinct in us,the survival of the fittest, the need to want to be higher and better and stronger. Some of us dont have as much inclination as others but the strong ones who want ‘it’ REALLY want ‘it’

Ok-think of it this way, you’re a wolf, and a hungry one at that,a titbit of meat gets thrown in your cage and you chow down,as your eating it a steak comes over, you get onto the steak..a side of lamb comes over..you get the picture.

Now before you all chastise me for being mean i do understand how many ‘fans’ celebrities have and how many tweets they must get but my point is why should my identical tweet be any different from one from a n other celebrity that gets replied to ?

Does there need to be different ‘levels’ on twitter  dependent on how ‘important’ you are? maybe a points system that stops ‘paupers’ from daring to tweet you.

I’ve drawn a pecking order plan and will post it later when its finished.

I now mainly only add ‘tweople’ who i find interesting and move in similar circles as i do-this way i get a response,an interaction and the ‘social network site’ i joined is working for me,Now-when i tweet something,i get a reply off someone who actually gives a shit and banter or similar is exchanged.Which brings me onto my sub blog..

what people tweet about..

1.What they are currently doing/planning to do at this moment/later today

2.How shit x or y is on X factor,Strictly on ice..whatever

3.Check this picture of  me/my pet/my baby/my car

4.Follow @x @y or @z they are amazing/famous/on twitter

5.Look at my blog/film review/massage my ego please.

6.(My favourite) Normal people just having a laugh talking random

So intrinsically people talk on twitter in just a few styles

The flirt..I’m a dreadful flirt,i love banter and gentle double entendres-it makes me smile

The gobshite..these people tend not to last long on twitter

The critique..”Jedward were shit on x factor”,”what was Cheryl wearing” etc

The Doommonger..Oh woe is me i’m so shit..

The narcissist..Look how great i am

The real person..Talking like we are down at the pub, just funny banter-My favourite

What do you think ?

Is there is an insatiable desire for too many people to connect to these ‘stars’ that it could self combust?

Should there be a ‘twitter test’ to weed out the socially inept buffoons ?

how long before a new social network site takes over ?

Right that’ll do for now..laters
