In today’s world wisdom is important. Will Rogers was full of interesting wisdom: — “Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.” — “There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.” — “Always drink upstream from the herd.” — “If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.” — “When you give a lesson in meanness to a critter or a person, don’t be surprised if they learn their lesson.”
It is important to respond to trouble in our lives prayerfully. I personally found that in my life, it wasn’t easy to live life alone. Indeed, I needed God’s guidance. At least, when I listened to His guidance and applied it…….things turned out much better in my life. We might pray for deliverance, and there is nothing wrong with that. Or, We might pray for a change of the circumstances, and there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes however, what we really need is WISDOM. We need ask God for this wisdom.
I ask myself sometimes, “If I was wise…what would I do in this situation?” If we ask Jesus, indeed God, He will give generously. In fact, He will give generously without finding fault. If we pray (ask), and seek out the answer to a problem (seek) and I believe that God, indeed Jesus answers (Knock and the door will be opened). It’s not always what we want to hear….in fact….be careful about seek the answer you want to hear. Seek the RIGHT answer. I hope that makes sense. The truth is, life often requires sacrifice and something of us. It’s not always the “easy” road that is the best road.
James 1:5 (TNIV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
In the face of the many struggles or troubles that we experience every day, we should respond faithfully to Jesus. Relationships take time to build. Relationships BUILD on shared experiences. If you have a relationship with God, with Jesus, respond FROM THE HEART. If you don’t feel you have a strong relationship with Jesus, it’s never to late. Now is a good time to start.
James 1:6 (TNIV)
6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Like any relationship, we get out of it what we put in. Talk to God prayerfully and don’t doubt that He is there listening. Keep your eyes open for His answers. Seek the answer to your troubles and struggles. Ask yourself what brought you here. Ask God to help you see. As your heart responds to these answers–ask God for strength. Do what is “RIGHT” over what is “EASY”.
As you respond to struggles and troubles in this way, as you trust in God’s leading, as you seek His guidance and as you “STRUGGLE” to do what is “RIGHT”, you will find, answers, right paths, maybe even “A NEW WAY”. You will start to build a deeper relationship with The One who walks beside us, with Jesus. Hold on to that, HOLD IT CLOSE, don’t forget His guidance and deliverance…it makes it easier to respond faithfully the next time you experience struggle or trouble.
