I like good coffee shops. You know this. We visited this new “third wave” coffee shop I had been hearing about in SB. You know, the one that is using beans from Santa Cruz. You know, the one that shall remain nameless because I didn’t love it?
Located on State St. (could I even make it more obvious?) it gave us the opportunity to visit this place and also walk along and browse shops, etc. They have a lovely La Marzocco machine and are proudly displaying that they use Verve coffee beans.
I ordered a latte.
I also ordered a magic bowl because I was curious as to what it could be. I should have read the description a little better before being adventurous.
It turned out to be a magic bowl of FAIL. He offered to drink it so I could have the latte. It tasted really…weird. Did not like.
Here is the latte…
Deciding to give this place one more try, I ordered an iced latte. It was okay. Turns out they don’t have agave. Which, you know. Is unfortunate.
Basically, I think that this is a good addition to State St. and must be great for locals and students as a hang out spot. There were plenty of people sitting around on laptops and studying. Yet, the coffee wasn’t as amazing as I hoped it would be…
I know this was posted two years ago, but it sounds like you just couldn’t handle the flavor of the Magic Bowl. Its pure good.
