This performance aided with 2.7m/s wind speed is coming after she ran 22.04 seconds last week in Texas. She broke Mary Onyali-Omagbemi’s 22-year-old 200m African record. The African 100m record is 10.78 seconds held by Murrielle Ahoure of Cote d’ Ivoire.

Nigeria’s Jennifer Made placed third in the race in Austin, Texas with 11.47 seconds.

Okagbare is expected to join up with the Team Nigeria already in Australia for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is billed to run the relays only.

However, she will be home in Asaba to compete at the African Championships slated for August.
