Has internet replaced oxygen as our basic need?

  1. You know; you bring up very important points… Coming from a broken home with no roots planted; I’ve learned to adopt values to strengthen our (meaning my kids and husband) family structure…one thing I always questioned is, ” should this be a tradition?” ( based on your other post- since not manynare passed down) and now this… Man — let me tell you. I have to rip my kids off the net sometimes. Pull that mom card to remind them life is going on… Right now I’m bound to limited movement and sometimes I feel an internal voice begging to go run. I wonder how much I will be able to read everyone’s post when I go back to work… I believe technology is great inany ways but a huge stumbling block to growth🤔

    1. Hearing about parents about the challenge they face to raise a child I know how difficult it is, when I get to experience it I’ll know that its beyond my imagination. Never an easy job.
I Hope you get well soon ma’am! Have a nice day.

      1. You too; and thank you for hoping that everyday! Do you realize I don’t think I hear that often… Sometimes maybe… but you consistently say it…it’s probably a habit for you but its pretty nice being on the receiving end.😁 – and no its not an easy job but its the best job!

  2. Our world is an ever interacting one, how can we forget that if we humans have changed technology, it’ll certainly change us. Still I miss those days when playing ludo & snake-ladder were in vogue. Worse is yet to come.

  3. We are all a part of this game..but there will be a saturation point, but only after the final worse point…
You know, when i was in hostel, the powercut time was our best enjoyment time, playing andhakshari, mock fights, making afraid of others in the darkness…it’s all seem to have happened in another universe.

  4. Good post. Loved it. I wonder what will be next? It was the pigeon carrying letters, than the horses and carriage, post offices, mobile phones, internet with all social media. The latest tend to connect us with unknown people and forget about closest, forget feelings and verbal communication. What next?

  5. Absolutely agree with you Joseph. We are becoming a generation of slaves in the hands of technology. They have eroded so deep into our every day life and there is no technology control like the pest control , to drive them out 😉😥

  6. Thought provoking !

The comparison drawn is so apt , “we know if the WiFi is working but don’t know if we are breathing ” that’s perfect .

Now since we arent breathing the oxygen levels should go up , alas smartphones could free the world from global working and systematically desettle populations and dismantle socities .

    Great put!!

  7. This is MADNESS! and surely it isn’t going to get better for sure. Children starting their day with whatsapp rather than a prayer. We read the news on the phone rather than the newspapers. Dates are no longer where people talk – but busy on their phone, thank goodness there isn’t an app as yet for physical intimacy, else that would be tragic!

    1. Well said. Agree with every word mentioned here. There are several apps for dating. I just don’t understand their logic. But they are just so popular. Maybe over the years the scene of a man proposing will become a rare sight only seen in old movies.
