The Box: Spring Awakening
Oooh I love Rifle Paper Co. stuff. Are you going to use the coupon?? Tell me what you’re getting!
Precious box… store all my pretties in here…
PETER THOMAS ROTH Acne-Clear Invisible Dots: 12 dots for $5 sample, $30 for 72 dots in a bandaid tin. “Each dot contains a fast-acting treatment with 0.5 percent salicylic acid to heal breakouts overnight and prevent new ones from forming.”
So, funny story. When I saw this in my box I dismissed it as some stupid face cream. Later that day, I saw an acne sticker product in a K-beauty box and thought, wow I wonder how I can snag some of those! The next day when I put away my BB stuff I realized I already had acne dots!!
My pizza face is excited to try these! But seriously I always get acne after I eat bad tasty tasty food.
The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick: $14.95, full size! “This handy stick is not only flavored like one of our favorite smoothies (hello, almond butter and goji berry!), but it also boasts a soft, sweet tint and hydrating ingredients that’ll make your lips do flips.”
Hmm this is unappealing to me because A. I have way too much lippie product, and B. this looks like something I’d buy as a teen. Which makes me think it is made out of a crayon-like formula. But, don’t judge a book by its cover or a lip product by its packaging, right?? I’ve seen good reviews of this, but I’ll still be passing it along.
It’s peanut-butter-jelly-smoothie-stick time!
(MALIN+GOETZ) grapefruit face cleanser: $2 for 0.5oz sample, $32 for 8oz full size. “It dissolves dirt, clears up breakouts, and balances skin’s natural pH.”
I already have a larger sample of this that I’ve been using, and I quite like it!
(MALIN+GOETZ) vitamin e face moisturizer: $1.15 for 0.10oz sample, $46 for 4oz full size. “Its lightweight, antioxidant-rich formula has intensely hydrating properties and provides pH balance for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin.”
This was a special extra, and holy spendy face product, Batman! This is half the size of the cleanser for $14 more. I won’t be buying this any time soon… Though now I understand why I got a tiny packet of it.
Milk Makeup Gel Brow in Pilsner: $7ish?? for a 0.18oz sample, $18 for full size. “The smooth gel formula glides on quickly and easily for a natural look that’s waterproof and transfer-proof.”
I was really jazzed to get an eyebrow pencil! It actually matches quite well with my hair color. My only complaint is that it really clumps up my eyebrows. I guess I need an eyebrow brush to style them. Ah, and reading the description I can see that the full size has a spool brush just for the job!
After trying this out with fish face [it’s the new duck face], I decided that I may have to buy this… It’s only slightly cheaper than my Anastasia brow liner, and I like the color of this one better. Also I used my Uncle Funky’s Daughter in my hair and my hair looked awesome!
All three colors are named after beer! Pale Ale, Pilsner, and Dark Brew. I’ll take a Hef =D
amika Touchable Hairspray: $1.8 for 0.75oz sample, $24 for 10oz full size. “This dry mist battles frizz by hydrating and smoothing while protecting against the effects of humidity.”
It gets good reviews, but I don’t use hairspray on my hair. I don’t really have to worry about my curls going anywhere other than from shrinkage…
At least it’s not more dry shampoo like I’d assumed!!
Verdict: This was a decent box, and it adds up to about $30. I got 6 items to try and so far I’ve liked most, but will be swapping or sharing the hairspray and lippie stuff. I’m actually looking forward to getting a zit so I can try the dots! Also, I’m surprised that I received the medium darkness eyebrow color and it blends in so well. My hair is very dark brown, and it’s usually hard to match–the makeup ladies in Nordstrom usually go a little too red or beige, and this was spot on.

Everything looks awesome to try except the hairspray. Dry mist? Isn’t that called dry shampoo? I would not trust a hairspray with the word dry in it. Hairspray is supposed to be wet amiright!?!
Um your brows look amazing. I may have to try a brow pencil out as opposed to using shadows. I think the perfection of your brows calls for a you tube tutorial. I know I would watch it at least 5 times.
Thanks!! Okay, so what I do is outline my left brow at one stoplight, the right at the next, then hope my boss isn’t at work yet when I run inside the office bathroom to quickly fill in the rest =D I think that would make a pretty awesome tutorial–filming myself on my cell phone while driving and putting on makeup.
I love the pics!!! So much lush grass… we don’t see a ton of that in socal lol
