West Michigan United Labor (WMUL)—a partnership of west Michigan union leaders and the United Way—donated the money to provide over 10,000 pounds of food from Feeding America of West Michigan. Fifty-eight union volunteers helped distribute that food to local residents currently experiencing food insecurity.

Households received a number of food items, including cabbage, cucumbers, sausage, bread, yogurt, pastries, milk and potatoes.

In addition to distributing food, union volunteers also did voter registration at the food truck, signing up more than 30 new voters.
