Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth – T. Harv Eker

Here are my comments on the book:

What’s the difference between the rich and the poor? Their mindset and attitude towards money. Each of us have a blueprint with money just as a building has a blueprint of its own. However, the good news is that this blueprint of ours can be changed. This book dives deep into the wealth principles of both acquiring and maintaining that wealth. Points taken away are:

1. If you ever want to achieve something or get something done, find your motivation to fuel you. One of the best lessons I’ve learned is that people usually have one of these 4 motivators that get them going: money, relationships, status, and or movement. Find your motivation and you’ll take the steps to achieve your goal. The reason or motivation you have for making money or creating success is vital. If your motivation for acquiring money or success comes from a nonsupportive root such as fear, anger, or the need to ‘prove’ yourself, your money will never bring you happiness.

2. Get clear on what it is that you are chasing after. If you’re not sure what you’re chasing after, you’ll lose focus. If you lose focus, you’ll get nothing. A person who chases two rabbits gets none. The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want. Rich people are totally clear that they want wealth. They are unwavering in their desire. They are fully committed to creating wealth.

3. Money comes from delivering value to others. The more value you can deliver, the more you’ll make. Money doesn’t just appear out of nowhere, you get paid for solving a problem. Elon Musk has said that you get paid in direct proportion to the problems that you’re solving. Solve more problems, make more money.I refer you to the Law of Income, which states, ‘You will be paid in direct proportion to the value you deliver according to the marketplace.

4. Be grateful for receiving money. I’ve tried this personally and to my surprise it has worked somehow. It could be that the law of nature is listening in to my gratitude and is giving me more or it could just be pure coincidence. I suggest trying it out; what do you have to lose?I want you to practice going crazy with excitement and gratitude anytime you find or receive any money. It’s funny, when I was broke and I saw a penny on the ground, I would never stoop so low as to pick up a lowly penny. Now that I’m rich, however, I pick up anything that even looks like money. Then I give it a kiss for good luck and declare out loud, ‘I am a money magnet. Thank you, thank you, thank you.’ I don’t stand there judging the denomination. Money is money, and finding money is a blessing from the universe. Now that I’m fully willing to receive anything and everything that comes my way, I do!
