Easter Treats: Chocolate Pretzel Nests

Oh, no! It’s almost Easter and you’ve completely forgotten that you told Aunt Sarah that you were going to bring a dessert to the Easter family dinner! What to do?!

Let me just tell you.

If you have 20 minutes, chocolate and pretzels then you’re ready for the big family party.

What you’ll need:

1 large bag of pretzel sticks
2 bags of chocolate
1 bag of M&M’s (or jelly beans for eggs)

That. Is. It.

Step 1.

-Melt the chocolate in a large saucepan on low heat.
Use a 2 out of 10 or so otherwise the chocolate
will burn and you’ll get coal in your basket.

Step 2.
Mix in the pretzel sticks a handful at a time.
Fold the chocolate to completely cover the sticks.

Step 3.
Using your fingers, grab a few sticks and form them in a nest as if you were a mama bird. Use wax paper on a cookie sheet.
I found it was good to break a few so they’d form the nests better.
Too many long ones get a little weird.

Step 4.
While the chocolate is still melty, strategically place your ‘eggs’ on top.

Step 5.
Put the cookie sheet of nests in the freezer for about ten or so minutes.
If you’re not in a hurry, 20 minutes is probably better, but they don’t take too long to harden!

There you have it! A quick and easy treat, salty and sweet. Too cute and a sure crowd-pleaser for your Easter dinner! Have questions or comments? Message us below!
