Television personality Wendy Williams has shared her thoughts on the publicized war of words between Young Money’s Nicki Minaj and this year’s MTV Video Music Awards host Miley Cyrus.
Instead of taking sides, Williams dished on Nicki disappointing her by feuding with Miley.
“I didn’t watch the VMAs, because again, I was on tour and I was busy sleeping and moisturizing. But I did see the clip and I was very disappointed in Nicki. And I don’t have an opinion about either one of the girls—bad, good or indifferent. They’re both talented in their own way. I just feel that Nicki is like twice Miley Cyrus’ age and it would have been nice if Nicki would have just taken her award, rolled her eyes and looked at the camera—and then kept it moving. New York rapper Azealia Banks went at both music stars on Twitter early Wednesday (September 2) over the feud.
Minaj went at Miley’s head during her acceptance speech for the “Best Hip Hop Video” category at Sunday’s MTV VMAs show.
“And now back to this b*tch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?!,” Nicki shouted before Miley responded with, “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate sh*t. Last week, Cyrus scolded Nicki for ranting about the MTV VMAs nominees selection process favoring white musicians.
“People forget that the choices that they make and how they treat people in life affect you in a really big way. If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it. And it’s not anger like, “Guys, I’m frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.” You made it about you. She still a kid compared to some older woman in their 30’s. Miley also has age as an excuse for immaturity. Nicki has none and should have grown up a long time ago.
