My Morning Cocktail

This daily “Bloody Mary” cocktail recipe has helped lower my cholesterol & blood sugar from unhealthy to normal levels.

Having daily healthy routines is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. But a lot of healthy things aren’t fun which can kill a routine. Over ten years ago I went to the doctor for a regular check-up and found out that my blood sugar and my cholesterol levels were high. My doctor wanted to put me medication. Doctors always seem to start with pills instead of promoting healthy dietary changes first. I guess they think it’s easier and they have the drug companies tests for promoting results. Food is a powerful medicine, and natural ingredients need to be monitored just as closely as Dr. prescribed medication because it’s just as effective. Cyanide is a natural ingredient and we all know how powerful that is. But if you can’t achieve your desired healthy results naturally I’m all for medicine.

One of my daily health routines is my morning “Bloody Mary cocktail”. I love taking out my large crystal wine glass, combining the ingredients, swirling them together, and drinking it down. It makes me feel like I’m being a bit extravagant first thing in the morning. The wonderful part is my blood pressure and cholesterol are now in the normal range. My diet, vitamins, and exercise also play a part in keeping me healthy.

Here is my healthy Bloody Mary recipe and what I take with it every morning:

  • Two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar – cleans arteries of bad cholesterol
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (mix with Vinegar) it lowers blood sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce – because it’s delicious
  • 1 squeeze of lime
  • 1 cup of low sodium V8 juice

If you were looking for the vodka, sorry, I pretend the ACV is the alcohol.

I do take a few vitamins with my drink:

  • 400 mg of magnesium
  • 3000 mg of Vitamin D – I’m over 50 so I take this for my bone health (Vit. D helps your body absorb calcium), weight management, cancer protector, and it’s also a mood enhancer
  •  1,200 mg of calcium

I finish my morning routine with 2 Women’s Day gummy vitamins. They taste like candy and I love them.

This works for me, if you are having challenges with your health you may want to discuss natural options with your doctor.

Daily routines don’t have to be boring, have fun, stay healthy so you can enjoy life to its fullest. You are worth it!20150608_064552_resized
