#VMworld 2015 Announcement – vSphere APIs for IO Filtering

VMware vSphere APIs for IO (VAIO) Filtering has been announced.  It fits under the umbrella of VMware Unified Hybrid Cloud, however deserves a post on its own.

In a nutshell (more detail below):

• Enables secure filtering of VM I/O in vSphere kernel based upon policy
• 10 Partners: SanDisk, EMC, PrimaryIO, StorageCraft, Infinio, Samsung, Asigra, Actifio, Condusiv Technologies, HGST
• Expect some VAIO partners to support this by end of 2015
