Was so tired of dwelling on the past
There’s no way to change it
No need in continuing to look back on it.
It had long ago been time to move forward
To look to the future and all that it may hold.
Had long been the time to take the steps needed to make things better.
There were always doubts, always questions that stopped me in my tracks.
Will it be easy? No, but nothing worth it is ever easy.
Will it take time? Of course, all good things do.
Will the time it takes be worth it? Absolutely it will in the long run.
If the goals that are set are not the ones meant for me, at least they will free me.
Free me from the darkness that bound me.
Free me from the hopelessness that consumed me.
Opened my eyes, my heart, my soul, my life to all that is out there.
To give me back what had been taken away.
There’s always a reason why people are placed in our lives
Could be something blatantly obvious or a reason that is more subtle.
But they are put there nonetheless to teach you, to help you, to enlighten you.
I see the reason for you
I already know what purpose you served
You taught me so much in such a small amount of time.
Opened my eyes to possibilities I never dreamed of.
Gave me hope that things will and can be okay.
Gave me strength to pursue what needed to be done long ago.
that is your purpose, that is your reason
And for that, I will forever be thankful.
