Friendships are so rare to find these days
Friendships that truly last are even more rare
And when they begin online, you don’t think of them as long-term.
People come and go so quickly in life, even moreso online.
Sometimes though you stumble on someone unexpected.
Someone comes along and you friend them or follow them not expecting anything
Even though you don’t talk daily, the occasional conversations are there
And before you know it, a year has passed.
It’s then you realize how much you actually care about this person.
Doesn’t matter that you’ve never heard their voice or seen them face to face
You still care about them in your own special way.
They’ve provided inspiration and motivation in ways they may not know.
You try to return that inspiration, support and encouragement when they need it, too. Hoping that it has helped them at least in some small way.
The only regret is not having met face to face before the course of their path changes
But just because that path has changed, doesn’t mean that’s the end
The chances of meeting will always be there it just might take longer to happen
