Welcoming…

NO

(Must for 2014)

NO are an L.A band, more specifically from the Echo Park area, who surfaced around mid 2011.

They picked up a lot of attention on their first EP Don’t Worry, You’ll Be Forever; with the colossal Stay With Me and Another Life, alongside the hit, The Long Haul thanks to TV show Elementary.

NO seemed to slowly drift out of the spotlight, focusing on their new album El Prado due for release February 18th. Had I have remembered these guys, they would have definitely made a place on my bands for 2014 list.

Since their hit EP, these guys released their White Iris AA 7″, with two sizzling tracks: What’s Your Name and Eleven Eleven,

The sound of NO is a mix of the kings of Indie and Pop music. The deep, harrowing vocals to match The National. Emphatic, stadium filler choruses, reminiscent to those of Coldplay. And the drama and electronic shudders of Bastille.

With their greatest track to date, Leave The Door Wide Open, accompanying the announcement of El Prado’s release, You would have to be terrifyingly deranged to not want to hear this album.

El Prado is released via Arts and Crafts records on February 18th and the tracklisting is as follows

  1. Leave The Door Wide Open
  2. Stay With Me
  3. What’s Your Name
  4. Monday
  5. So Scared
  6. There’s a Glow
  7. Interlude
  8. Another Life
  9. The Long Haul
  10. North Star
  11. Last Chance
  12. Hold On
  13. Go Outside
