Pete: A soon to be divorced lawyer and her two children drop in on her pot-head mother after not talking to her for twenty years.
Brigette: A mother and daughter try to heal their relationship after a 20 year long estrangement.

Who was your favorite character and why?
Pete: Jake because he was the only one I could remotely relate to.
Brigette: Jake because he was the only character with any feeling.
Who was your least favorite character and why?
Pete: Diane because she took so long to even consider “letting go”.
Brigette: Diane/Diana because she was a very unhappy person and made others around her unhappy as well.
How was the casting?
Pete: I was not very impressed with anyone’s performance in this film.
Brigette: I thought everyone except Nat Wolff (who played Jake) was miscast in this film.
Did it grab you immediately or did it take a while?
Pete: I found it very difficult to watch and was surprised that I didn’t fall asleep watching it.
Brigette: It never grabbed me because it was choppy, the dialogue was stilted and you never really got to know any of the characters.

What would you change?
Pete: I wouldn’t have started watching.
Brigette: Jane Fonda’s hair. It was far too perfectly coiffed for a hippie.
How was the soundtrack?
Pete: It had one good song: Angus & Julia Stone’s “Hold On”, and far too many Grateful Dead songs on it.
Brigette: Very groovy. We’ve put some of it on Spotify, Grooveshark and Rdio.
How was the ending?
Pete: Predictable and boring, but I was glad it was all over.
Brigette: Cliché and sickly sweet.
What was the moral of the story?
Pete: Don’t waste your time trying to change other people.
Brigette: People are who they are; don’t expect them to change no matter how much they love you or how much you disapprove of them.
Who would you recommend it to?
Pete: Grateful Dead fans and pot-heads (hang on, aren’t they the same thing?).
Brigette: To people who need an overly simplistic and completely unrealistic suggestion on how to reconcile with someone.
