AXM Falcon 9 v1.1 in 1:100 scale

Here I’m presenting the long-awaited AXM version of the SpaceX Falcon 9 v1.1 in 1:100 scale, now available at my site. Several photo references from the Internet helped me complete this model, but the difficult part was to get accurate information about the real measurements of this rocket. SpaceX only provides estimated measurements of the Falcon 9 segments, so after looking at several sources, this model came out very close to the real measurements at this scale. The real Falcon9 v1.1 with the Dragon capsule measures 208 feet tall and the Falcon 9 v1.1 with the 5.2 m (diameter) payload fairing shroud measures 224 feet tall. These numbers when converted to the metric system and scaled down to 1:100 matched very close with the height of my Falcon 9 v1.1 models. The Falcon 9 v1.1 CRS-3 mission stands at a height of approximately 63 cm at that scale. The models for the Thaicom-6 and OrbComm O2G missions stand approximately at 68.5 cm tall.

SpaceX made an innovation by adding landing legs to the Falcon9 first stage. These legs have a deployment mechanism that it activates during the controlled descent of the first stage.
The photos below give a closer look at the first stage with the landing legs.

And here is a comparison between the Falcon 9 and Falcon 9 v1.1.

  1. Hi I’m wanting to get a Falcon 9 v1.1 tattoo on my ankle (turning my lower calf into the engines and landing legs). I am finding it difficult to get pictures/drawings with hard lines that I could give to my tattoo artist to draw the designs from, could you please help? Thanks Darryl
