Let’s Talk Books With Megan Keith, Author Of Finding My Way Series

Today, Aussie Author Megan Keith has kindly agreed to take part in Let’s Talk Books. Megan writes across a variety of genres (New Adult Romance, Contemporary Adult Romance, and Erotica) and has published four books so far with a fifth due for release in May this year:  How To Liv, Finding My Way, Crossroads (Finding My Way Book Two), Eraser, and New Beginnings (Third book in the Finding My Way trilogy and due for release in May 2014).

What are you currently reading?

I’ve just started Lili St. Germain’s Seven Sons. I’m only a little ways in and all I can say is ‘wow’.

What’s the last book you brought?

I just placed an order for paperbacks from Amazon (not something I do often because the freight to Oz is killer) – I ordered a copy of every book R.K. Lilley has written. I loved them all and NEED them in paperback.

Do you prefer to read books in print or electronically?

Electronically. I still cringe to think it but I’ve been converted. I mainly read on my Kindle and then if I love the book I put it on my paperback wish list.

If I was to walk into your house right now, what would would you bookshelves look like? Do you have an organisation system (genre, colour, author…) or are you just happy to go with the flow?

My bookshelf is disorganised except for maybe two shelves that house my signed copies and absolute favourites. I always group an author’s books together, even on the messy shelves.

How often do you read?

Every day

What characteristics/traits would make up your dream book?

I like a bit of everything. I want believable characters, swoon-worthy men, some suspense, romance, build-up, sexiness. I love a bit of humour thrown in too. And flow, the words have to flow on the page.

How do you choose what to read next?

I’m currently going down my list on Goodreads of authors that are attending the Indie Authors Down Under event on the Gold Coast. I want to read as many of them as I can in the next three weeks!

So you’ve started a book and discover it’s not for you. Are you more likely to discard it or finish it?

I rarely leave a book unfinished even if I’m not enjoying it that much. I like to give the author the benefit of the doubt and just hope it gets better.

If you could read any book again, for the first time, what book would you choose?

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

What is about books that makes you want to read? What is your favourite part about reading?

Getting lost in a story. Falling in love with the characters and rooting for them to come out on top. The best is when you can feel that book drawing you in, that pull you get when you don’t have the book within reach but are dying to get back to it. I love when there are unexpected twists and turns – I don’t enjoy predictability. Discovering new authors and styles of writing always thrills me too.
